For sole traders

Am I too small to work with you?

No. Sole trader does not mean small fry, it means you are the whole operation. That is exactly when good financial thinking matters most, because every decision lands on you. There is no minimum turnover and no minimum ambition.

How is this different from a regular accountant?

A regular accountant tells you what happened last year. I am more interested in what happens next, and in how you feel about it. Compliance still gets done properly, I am an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, but the conversation is about your business and your life, not just your tax return.

I have been avoiding my books for months. Is it too late?

It is almost never too late, and you are in extremely good company. Avoidance is not laziness, it is usually a nervous system doing its best to protect you from something that once felt unsafe. We start where you are, without a lecture about what you should have done.

Should I be a limited company yet?

Maybe. It depends on your profits, your risk, your plans and what you actually want your working life to look like. It is a decision people rush into because someone at a networking event told them to. We can look at your numbers properly and work out whether it earns its keep for you.

I am neurodivergent and traditional finance systems have never worked for me.

Your brain is not the problem. Systems designed for a different brain are the problem. We get curious about how you actually function, then build routines, reminders and setups that fit that, rather than handing you a spreadsheet and hoping.

Do you do my self assessment?

Yes, through Mini CFO® Accountancy Services. Filing is part of it, not the whole of it. You get the returns done and a person who knows your numbers well enough to spot things before they become problems.

I get anxious every time I open my bank app. Can you help with that?

Yes, and it is one of the things I care most about. I am a Trauma of Money™ Practitioner as well as an accountant, which means the feelings are not treated as an inconvenient side issue. Money is emotional. That is the point, not a glitch.

What if I just want to learn to do it myself?

Then we do that. Finance Coaching and Mentoring and the GetNumberSavvy® training exist for people who want the understanding rather than the outsourcing. Plenty of sole traders want to feel capable, not dependent.

What do financial services cost?

It depends what you need, and I would rather talk it through than put you in the wrong box. The first call is free and there is no pitch at the end of it.

What happens on the first call?

We talk about your business, where things are up to with the money, and what is on your mind. No preparation, no tidy spreadsheet required. If it is not a fit I will tell you, and usually point you somewhere better.
